This unforgettable weekend will start off with an Allagash beer tasting and your first delectable dinner of many. Down East editor-in-chief Kathleen Fleury will join us for this special welcome dinner.
After a freshly prepared breakfast, you’ll sit down to a special viewing of the award-winning film by Russ Lane about his father’s past as a Whitehead Light Station lightkeeper. Later in the day, learn how to dig for clams and harvest mussels before a relaxing evening of appetizers, dinner, and dessert.
Start the day with a picturesque kayak tour of Seal Harbor led by professional guides. We’ll pack a picnic and stop at a nearby island for lunch, explore, and relax. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk on Whitehead Island or enjoy your free time lounging at the lighthouse. For dinner, we’ll have a traditional lobster bake by campfire.
Wake up early and catch the sunrise on a leisurely boat ride around the harbor. After that, enjoy a warm cup of coffee in hand at the top of the lighthouse before your late departure back to the mainland around 1 p.m.
