Day 1

This unforgettable stay will start off with an Allagash beer tasting with paired appetizers and your first delectable dinner of many. Down East editor-in-chief, Kathleen Fleury will join us for this special welcome dinner. After dessert and coffee, relax and stargaze, seeing the milky way like never before.

Day 2

After a freshly prepared breakfast, you’ll sit down to a special viewing of the award-winning film by Russ Lane about his father’s past as a Whitehead Light Station lightkeeper. Feel free to ask Russ questions over lunch. Later in the day, learn how to dig for clams and harvest mussels before a relaxing evening of appetizers, dinner, and dessert.

Day 3

Start the day with a full breakfast and a picturesque kayak tour of Seal Harbor led by professional guides. We’ll pack a picnic and stop at a nearby island for lunch, explore, and relax. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk on Whitehead Island or enjoy your free time lounging at the lighthouse. For dinner, we’ll have a traditional lobster bake outside by the campfire, watching the nearly full moon rise over the water.

Day 4

Wake up early and catch the sunrise on a leisurely boat ride around the harbor. Enjoy a warm cup of coffee in hand at the top of the lighthouse before or after your full breakfast.  Soak up the scenery from an Adirondack chair, learn about the Whitehead history in our library, or follow a trail among our enchanting spruce woods before a delicious lunch and the always reluctant departure back to the mainland around 1 p.m.
